Waffen-SS Officer’s Visor Cap

Waffen-SS Officer’s Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. SS Officers and certain senior NCO ranks were responsible for purchasing their own uniforms and headgear. This is a nice quality, private purchase, field-grey wool/tricot blend construction Officer’s visor cap, the cap features a wide, black velvet centerband and white wool ‘Waffenfarbe’ piping to the top of the crown edge and both the top and bottom edges of the black velvet centerband. The interior of the cap is fully lined in a grey rayon cloth, the cap has no visible maker markings, it is size ’55’ marked. The grey coloured leather sweatband is in good used condition, a part of the stitching came loose, see photos, this is not visible in display. The cap is complete with it’s in my opinion original applied cap-eagle and cap-skull (Totenkopf or death’s head). The cap shows normal traces of usage and wear and is in overall good condition, the cap has a great shape. There are some moth damages, see photos. Scarce and hard to find original SS Officer’s Visor Cap in very good condition!
