Luftwaffe visor cap with document grouping from Dr. Karl Singer, FJR1, Normandy ‘Kampfgruppe Hellmund’ (St. Nazaire)
€2,200.00
Description
Heavy worn LW Schirmmütze (visor cap) from Dr. Karl Singer . From visor broken held by a tape. The black inside of the visor is quite unusual but is seen in the pictures as well when the cap is upside down. Comes with a large lot that contains war and post-war papers. He served as Oberartz with FJ regiment 1, including Crete and Normandy with Kampfgruppe Hellmund (St. Nazaire). He was taken prisoner of war and was also a doctor in the POW camp. After the war he became a general practitioner and researcher into water purification for which he received several ‘prizes’. It is too much to mention, but this entire lot comes in its original box directly from his family. The only thing they kept is his Soldbuch and medals (EK1, EK2, Inf. Sturm, KVk mit Schwerter, KVK.) He wore this cap in captivity by only loosening the swastika of the eagle and folding it under the body (as often observed). Cap is also named on the reverse of the sweat band.
